Nearly a year after the deal was announced, there has been no further public news on Disney’s Impossible Creatures film. Here is what is confirmed and what is not.

Walt Disney Studios won an auction for the series in October 2025, in a deal reported to be worth seven figures. Warner Bros and Netflix were reported to be the other finalists. Rundell is writing the screenplays for the first two books herself and producing alongside her creative partner Charles Collier through their company, Impossible Films, under the Disney Live Action banner. The films are intended for cinemas rather than streaming. Impossible Films also has a first look arrangement with Disney covering Rundell’s other current and future books.
